25 Years of Outstanding AchievementStonemasonry and its allied trades have been the heart and soul of St Blaise since the earliest days. We have always had our own banker shop, but of necessity we are itinerant, and will take our bankers to site whenever possible. We believe the best masonry comes if the mason carving the stone takes his own templets, and fixes his own work
We have met great challenges and assembled some of the country's largest skilled teams (The British Museum) We maintain close links with many masons and can always build teams at short notice to meet any need
We have been innovative in applying our experience, at Lloyds Bank,Cirencester & at Highcliffe Castle
We understand all our masonry traditions and we work our native stones. We consult, we advise, we design, we draw, we set out, and we source stone. We work closely with petrographic analysts and have opened at least four quarries to find the right stone
We have close ties with Weymouth College. We sit on their Evaluation and Advisory Committees for the Applied Architectural Carving and Conservation Course. We mentor their students and offer work placements. We train, in the craft and in its management. Our quality control and stone tracking systems are exceptional
We are as familiar with structure and engineering as we are with aesthetics. We undertake structural surveys of masonry, we recommend solutions and we have the equipment and resources to execute them Structural Case Studies
Our stone cleaning is informed by contemporary conservation philosophy and practice. We have no preferred means; rather we use all the techniques available, alone or in conjunction, after understanding the nature of the soiling, the substrate, the required result, and the consequences of the processes used
