West Wycombe Village
Description
This National Trust village is rare in its architecture, with cottages and inns dating from the 16th and 18th centuries.
The works involved:
- Redecoration and facade restoration of several of the historic properties on the High Street. Whilst undertaking the works more serious structural issues were uncovered and these were rectified in a sympathetic way resulting in the shoring of the facade from falling into the road.
- Extensive traffic management on the main A40 with close liaison with commercial premises and villagers to minimise the disruption in the village.
- Paint stripping by means of jossing and doffing.
