Grove Place, Southampton
Description
An Elizabethan Manor House and Hunting Lodge with extensive walled gardens, which in more recent years has been used as a private school. The refurbishment internally and externally to provide communal facilities within a retirement village.
The works involved:
- Brickwork repairs to listed boundary walls.
- Replastering internally.
- Repair to oak panelling.
- Joinery repair to windows and shutters.
- Brick conservation and structural repairs to a the listed walled gardens.
- Repair and replacement of internal lime wall plasters.
- Conservation and repairs to ornate plaster ceilings.
- Conservation and restoration of historic oak paneling, floors and Elizabethan Oak Staircase.
- Conservation and repairs to oak sash windows and shutters.
- Structural repairs to the building fabric.
- Design, manufacture and installation of spiral oak staircase.
- Lead and tile roof repairs.
- Conservation of garden statuory.
