St George's Bloomsbury (Award Winner)

Description
The re-introduction of Hawksmoor’s North Gallery. Our design input to the interpretation of the original intention was an essential ingredient to the construction in steel, lime plaster and joinery of the new gallery. Carved oak capitals adorn the completed structure.

The works involved:

• Structural steel supports
• Timber sub frame
• Oak paneling
• Solid run lime plaster to the soffits
• Two oak spiral staircase
• Carved detailing and Corinthian capitals
• Decorations in limewash and distemper
• Winner of RICS London 2008 Craftsmanship in Conservation Award
• Highly Commended in the Wood Awards 2008
